SCI 2

The SCI has become the most popular prescribed device. The range of anterior splints been developed to help reduce muscle activity that is the cause of clenching.
The patented splints are manufactured under license, and follow very controlled criteria in design of splints. For retention purposes we can offer various linings for any SCI splints, as standard we manufacture the bases with a soft inner lining and a hard occlusal surface.
The SCI2 splint is designed to contact the 4 central incisors. The splint features a discluding element that features angled anterior guide plane, it can be made for either maxillary or mandibular arch.
Rationale
This SCI2 splint can be used for:
- clenching (doesn't always eliminate canine contacts) limited to non excursive clenchers
- reducing muscle hyperactivity (particularly temporalis and masseter)
- dis-occlusion of posterior teeth and canines
- protection of dentition
- provention of further occlusal wear or trauma
- deep bite cases when an increase in V O is not possible
Construction requirements
- Upper and lower impression (silicone based material is preferable for the arch the appliance is to be made on)
- Facebow registration is useful (We can work with most articulator systems, a Kois Facebow can be made available to loan if required)
- CR bite registration
