Providing a ‘local service’ to orthodontists and general dentists throughout the UK, our GDC registered technicians work hard to ensure each appliance is first-class, keeping the dentist, and the patient, at the heart of all they do.

With over 40 years of experiencebetween them in producing orthodontic appliances, here are some of the wonderful members of our orthodontic team... 
 

Matt Norie
General Technical Manager

Matt joined S4S when the company was in its infancy and now oversees production of all appliances in the lab. He qualified as a technician in 1999 and is skilled in the creation of all orthodontic appliances.

Abbie Flanagan
Dental Technician

Following a degree in Dental Technology, Abbie joined the team in late 2016 from a hospital-based role. She enjoys all aspects of ortho work, particularly producing twin blocks, as it allows her to utilise her skills.   

"It's amazing how such a small appliance can make such a big difference to someone's life - and their oral health."

Sean Fox
Lead Orthodontic Technician

As our Lead Orthodontic Technician, Sean heads up the ortho team and provides all aspects of technical work. He has 20 years of experience and has been a great addition since joining the team. Favourite appliance? the Quad Helix, due to its intricate design.

Mike Irwin
Dental Technician

Mike joined S4S in 2016, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience from his previous orthodontic laboratory. He is experienced in making all types of orthodontic appliances, and many occlusal splints. 

"My favourite device to make? It'd have to be a Twin Block - or Hawley retainer."

Kennedy Jenkinson
Smilelign Technician

Kennedy is part of a team of four Smilelign technicians. She uses our specialist software, along with 3D CADCAM technology, to produce our Smilelign clear aligners. This involves manually plotting the movement of each individual tooth.

"Knowing that each case is going to transform someone's confidence is what makes this job so rewarding."

Elle Broadbent
Dental Technician

Elle joined S4S in 2014, following her work experience at the laboratory. She is experienced in creating fixed and removable retainers, nightguards, bleaching trays and sports mouthguards. She is also responsible for shaping Smilelign aligners, once they have been printed.

"What do I like about my job? The variety it brings - no two days are the same."
